Michael FreemanChief Marketing Officer, Petvisor
Michael Freeman is the Chief Marketing Officer at Petvisor, bringing over 20 years of experience in marketing, strategy, and operations across startups and Fortune 100 companies.
Before joining Petvisor, Michael served as VP of Marketing at Airbase (acquired by Paylocity), the leading procure-to-pay SaaS provider for mid-market companies. He has also held marketing leadership roles at Skilljar, Certent (acquired by Insightsoftware), Adaptive Insights (acquired by Workday), ShoreTel (acquired by Mitel), and Mecalux.
Michael holds an MBA from UCLA Anderson School of Management and a BA in Communication Studies from UCLA. He lives in San Luis Obispo, CA, with his wife, one of his teenage sons, and their rescue dog, Athena. Outside of work, he enjoys playing soccer and rock climbing.
Sasha PoljakOperating Partner, Petvisor
Sasha Poljak is an accomplished executive and general manager holding positions in both Fortune 500 and early-stage venture-backed companies.
As the CEO of Kontak, a unified communications company delivering new patient revenues and operational efficiency to the veterinary and dental industries, he is responsible for setting the strategic course and managing operational effectiveness.
As Executive Chairman of the Board and initially the CEO at Nimble Software Systems, Inc (DBA Ximble.com), he co-led the company’s merger with Paycor, a leading HR and Payroll solutions company.
During Mr. Poljak’s tenure, Ximble grew from an early-stage startup with a few customers to a leading staff scheduling and time-tracking SaaS solution. The sale of Ximble to Paycor provided the acquiring company with a missing strategic technology link and SMB business model and Ximble shareholders with a significant ROI.
Previously, Mr. Poljak founded two companies and led both through a successful exit, first to a PE firm and the second to a publicly traded company. He is an experienced investor focusing on early-stage development and fast growth management.
As an author, Mr. Poljak frequently writes about his professional experiences in publications such as Forbes, Workforce Magazine, and Huffington Post.
Tim CallahanChief Executive Officer, Petvisor
Tim Callahan is the CEO of Petvisor, Inc. He is responsible for executing Petvisor’s strategic vision and helping its operating company CEOs unlock the growth potential of their companies. He has experience leading large and small companies within various services and software verticals. He especially enjoys working alongside entrepreneurs and founders. Before Petvisor, Tim was CEO of GovQA, a provider of compliance workflow software for city, county, and state governments.
Previously, he served as President of Streamline & Celergo for global payroll software and services provider ADP and was CEO of Celergo LLC, a global payroll management company, before Celergo’s acquisition by ADP in 2018. Before Celergo, Callahan enjoyed a 28-year career in the global mobility industry as President and COO of Graebel Relocation Services and Senior Vice President of Global Sales & Marketing for SIRVA, Inc. He holds a B.A. in History from Fairfield University.
He is married with two grown sons and a baby Yorkshire Terrier named Xena.
Ben DavisChief Financial Officer, Petvisor
Ben Davis is the Chief Financial Officer of Petvisor, overseeing the financial operations of all operating companies. Before joining Petvisor, Ben was the CFO of PowerDMS, a provider of policy management and training software serving state and local governments.
Before his time as a CFO, he worked in private equity as a Vice President at The Riverside Company in New York City and an Associate at Carousel Capital in Charlotte. He began his career at Wells Fargo in their investment bank. Ben holds an MBA from UNC-Chapel Hill and a BS in Computer Science from Furman University.
Ben now lives in Orlando with his wife, three kids, and their dog, Coop.
Branon HanonoChief Commercial Officer, Petvisor
Branon Hanono is currently the Chief Commercial Officer at Petvisor. Before joining the Petvisor team, Branon was an early employee at PetDesk, where he held multiple positions, including Chief of Staff, Director of Strategic Partnerships, and Director of Sales. He is passionate about the animal health industry and is excited to bring his experience to support growth at every Petvisor platform.
He enjoys boating in the San Diego Bay with his wife Kayla and son Jack in his spare time. Branon is also a proud dog dad to Jet and Bentley.
Sophie KaragianesChief People Officer, Petvisor
Sophie holds the position of Chief People Officer at Petvisor, where she leads the charge in redefining the role of HR. She champions a people-centric philosophy that’s deeply ingrained in a holistic approach to supporting employees. She is also responsible for running the IMO (Integration Management Office), facilitating the smooth onboarding and strategic integration of new Petvisor companies.
She craves challenges, including straddling the line between company interests and advocating for employee welfare. As Petvisor continues to grow, she’s excited about the opportunities associated with managing effective post-acquisition efforts through top talent retention, superior employee engagement, and fostering highly desirable (albeit remote) working environments.
As a resident of Southern California, you’ll find Sophie enjoying time outside of work with her husband, Tomas, their two young kids, Nikos and Kasia, and their 10-year-old dog, Max – preferably with artisan coffee or fine wine in hand.
Taylor CavanahBoard Member, Petvisor
Taylor Cavanah co-founded and is currently on the board of directors for Petvisor. PetDesk is improving pet health by better connecting pet care providers and pet parents. PetDesk plans to generate 10 million additional years of pet life and has the data to prove it.
Before starting his own company, Taylor began his technical career at Zyvex Corporation, where he helped develop the semiconductor application, managed sales, co-founded a resulting spin-off (Zyvex Instruments), and later managed the division as a separate P&L after DCG Systems acquired it. He’s passionate about creating companies that change the world and has found the health of animals and animal care providers to be a change we need now.
Julien RenardCo-founder & CEO, Vetstoria
Julien Renard is the CEO and Co-founder of Vetstoria, the industry-leading veterinary booking platform used by over 3,500 practices globally to streamline operations, improve pet owner experience and maximize revenue. Before becoming an entrepreneur, Julien worked as an emergency veterinarian across Europe and the UK for many years. His current work has been informed by a deep understanding of pet care’s unique challenges and potential, focusing on optimizing the pet owner’s journey through automation and integration.
Curtis ThorneCo-founder & Co-CEO, Groomer.io
Curtis Thorne is a co-founder and Co-CEO of Groomer.io. Groomer.io designs and produces CRM and appointment setting software crafted specifically for the grooming industry. Groomer.io will help 50 million clean, happy and healthy fur babies in the next ten years. He can be seen twice daily being walked by his master, a mutt named Bruce!
Curtis began his career as a software developer in 2007. Once he built and launched his iOS app, it landed #8 in the game category in the App Store. At that moment, he knew he would make software a part of his career! After working for several startups, including a mobile vet clinic, Curtis decided to build his own pet-centric tech company. Groomer.io is that passion project!
Mikhail OpletayevChief Technology & Product Officer, Petvisor
Mikhail Opletayev is the Chief Technology & Product Officer at Petvisor, where he takes the lead on the company’s innovation and the ability of the products to address various needs of the end users – veterinarians and their customers. Backed by over three decades of technology experience, Mikhail started as a career Engineer in the 1990s. For the last 20 years, he has held significant executive positions, particularly VPs and CTOs, making waves at various SaaS companies.
Mikhail served as Capitol Canary’s CTO before he joined Petvisor, where he led the company through its strongest growth trajectory and directed its acquisition by Quorum.
Mikhail resides in Washington, D.C., with his fiancée, daughter, and two cute ragdoll cats. During his leisure time, he can be found working with new devices or having fun with his family.
